The Historical editions of Barbarossa and El Alamein use real photographs from World War II battles in the Russian and African theatres. While the game mechanics, card text, and rules are identical to the anime editions of both Barbarossa and El Alamein, the Historical editions offer a unique war game feel. Kamikaze Games hopes to expand the reach of Barbarossa and El Alamein to the War Gaming audience, who they hope will appreciate the art, strong game mechanics and diverse game play.
